Ruth Goldberg Machine
Ruth Goldberg Machine.
Here, I was able to experiment with different pieces of the physics engines in order to get each component to work in the way I wanted. For example, the domino wall leads to the hinged-sphere. By increasing the mass of the walls, the contact it makes with the sphere creates a larger swing, which allows it to then crash into the bricked wall.
Speaking of hinges, this was another creative way to implement some "machinery" to create further movement. I used hinges to create the swinging ball as a way to connect the first part of the machine to the second part. I also experimented with create a hinged-bridge to have a draw bridge effect, but ran into a few problems with limits.
Overall, I was able to incorporate some interesting elements using gravity, mass, hinge joints, and other elements of the physics engine.
